Armstrong Shirts were the first company in Europe to offer shirts in a choice of four sleeve-lengths. The concept of perfectly fitting shirts reached fruition in 1997, when Armstrong’s store opened in Humlegårdsgatan, one of the most prestigious streets in Stockholm. Demand was high from customers around Sweden and the world and in 1999 Armstrong launched its first online store. Even today Armstrong remains the only European company to offer ready-made shirts in a choice of four sleeve-lengths.

Maria and Hans Hedberg were inspired to create Armstrong after years of professional experience in menswear. They noticed that even with so many shirt brands available, many customers were unsuccessful in finding a shirt with an acceptable fit. Those who did actually find a good fitting shirt could not be guaranteed to find the same model in future collections due to the ever changing ranges and sizes.
