Slovenia is part of the former state of Yugoslavia and is a green and very pleasant Country, with just 46 Kilometers of coastline, but a vast diversity of rural landscape and traditional towns. The capital Ljubljana is a small city with less than 300,000 inhabitants. The coast is lined by the Strunjan cliff which ascends 80 metres above the sea and is the highest cliff wall on the Adriatic coast. |
Pohorje and the Maribor region is a green oasis on the eastern end of the Alps. Maribor Pohorje covers an area of about 1000 square km and is covered with lush coniferous forests. The Julian Alps lie to the Western end of Slovenia and offer an attractive backdrop. This geographical area is close to major tourist centres of Bled, Kranjska Gora, Bohinj and Bovec.
